We shall never forget

The Lombard Village Hall was the site of a remembrance ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11, commemorating the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. The event included a bell-ringing ceremony that was conducted by the fire department’s Honor Guard. The ringing of the bell is rooted in a 200-year-old tradition that announces the death of a firefighter in the line of duty.
