JAMES D. LYNCH SR.
James Dennis Lynch Sr., 80, passed away peacefully into the arms of his savior on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. He was surrounded by his family and his loving wife of 58 years.
Jim was born December 10th, 1941, in Chicago. He and Mary Beth lived in Lombard for the past 48 years. He was the second of five children of Tom and Agnes Lynch. Jim loved his large family, gardening, golf, history, raising chickens, and especially fishing for trophy pike and walleye. He enjoyed telling childhood stories and reminiscing about his fishing trips. Jim was a proud member of Local 399 Operating Engineers for over 35 years. He graduated from Austin High School in 1960. Jim was an active member of Lombard Gospel Chapel and the Men’s Bible Study there.
Jim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother Ken and his parents Thomas and Agnes (née Dorken). He is survived by his wife Mary Beth; his children Michael (Janet) Lynch, Mark (Karen) Lynch, Jennifer (Scott) Riley, Matthew (Juli) Lynch) and James (Natalie) Lynch Jr.; his grandchildren Steven (Stephanie), Jessica, Daniel (Kylee), Andrew, Kaitlyn Riley, Kelly, Ryan, Olivia, Alana and Jack; and his great grandson David. Beloved brother of Thomas (Dolores) Lynch, Daniel (Carol) Lynch and Patricia (William) Cornelious.
Visitation was held on Saturday, Dec. 18, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 South Main Street, Lombard. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. at Lombard Gospel Chapel, 369 N. Stewart, Lombard.

ROBERT W. PROFFITT
Robert W. Proffitt, age 63, longtime resident of Lombard. Beloved husband of Patricia Proffitt; loving dad of Jillian (Kelton) Stecklein, Michael (Mary) Proffitt, and Erin (Thomas) Berg; cherished Papa Bob of Kolbe and Jacqueline; dear son of the late Herbert and the late Leona Proffitt; fond brother of Deborah (Orri) Banach, Mary (the late Stanley) Luszczyk, and Laurie (Randy Zweiban) Proffitt.
Robert (Bob) W. Proffitt was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, to his beloved parents, Herbert and Leona. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and York High School. He thoroughly enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, swimming and lifeguarding, and time with friends dear to him. He married the love of his life, Patricia Proffitt (Zubak), in 1985 and has enjoyed 36 years of marriage. They created a beautiful life raising their three children: Jillian, Michael, and Erin together. Bob diligently loved and cared for his family in all aspects of life and will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

DIANE SCHACHT
Diane Schacht, née La Bud, age 75, of Lombard, passed away at home December 13th, 2021.
Loving wife of Dick Schacht; beloved mother of Richard “Richie” (Leslie) Schacht; cherished grandmother of Dillon, Blaze and Hanna; dear daughter of the late Leonard and Lorraine La Bud; caring sister of Sandie, Penny and Suzanne; loving mom of her fur babies Joey, Cookie and Smooshie. Diane will be truly missed by her family and many friends.

HAROLD J. SCOTT
Harold James (Gus) Scott, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Harold was born on March 4, 1935, in Cornwall, New York, to the late Agnes and Harold J. Scott. He lived in New York until moving to Wheaton, Illinois, in 1954 to attend Wheaton College, from which he graduated in 1957. While at Wheaton, he met his life partner and soulmate Marjorie Rexilius, and the two were wed on June 10, 1957, never to part until her passing on June 2, 2013.
He is survived by his son, James (Brandy) Scott; daughter Anne (Brad) Brown; five grandchildren – Jenna (James) VanTholen, Lissie (Dustin) Nelson, and Michael, Meghan, and Elizabeth Scott – and three great grandchildren – Elijah, Joshua, and Agnes VanTholen; and a sister, Nancy (Bill) Rosenberger.
Throughout his life and career as a teacher and coach, Harold’s love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ sustained him. He devoted himself to service to Lombard Bible Church, his church of more than 64 years, where, among other things, he taught a Sunday School class until the spring of 2020, to many other areas of ministry, and to his family and friends, who relied on his steadfast help, love, encouragement and prayers. His life of love and faith was complete and full, and he rests in the arms of his Lord, a ransomed soul.

Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park Ave. in Lombard, Private Interment.
