JOSEPH A. PISOWICZ
Joseph Adam Pisowicz, age 64, of Grove, Oklahoma, went home to heaven on November 11, 2021, taking a heart filled with love but leaving cancer behind.
Joe was born in Elmwood Park, IL, on August 31, 1957, to Joseph and Loretta (Pasternak) Pisowicz. He began his career as an outdoor electrician while he was still finishing high school, starting as an apprentice and retiring as foreman over 40 years later, with H&H Electric in Franklin Park, IL. This was his home away from home, and his coworkers there were his extended family and lifelong friends.
On April 20, 2002, he was united in marriage to his soulmate Diane Sekowski and was instantly embraced by this new family! Joe was a family man with a heart of gold. His children were his treasures and his focus! He looked out for everyone and helped in any way he could. Day or night, you could count on Joe.
Along with Joe’s magnetic personality and calm spirit, he had a wonderful mind. If something was broken, Joe could fix it. If something could be designed to work better, Joe could invent it. He always had a project going or was helping others on theirs, or even just listening! He enjoyed cheering for his beloved Chicago Bears.
Retiring to live the “Grand Life” in Grove in 2018 was his dream come true, and though he made many wonderful friends here and enjoyed all this new life had to offer, after only four months he learned he needed to live every moment knowing this would not last. When he could, he’d go fishing, boating, kayaking, swimming or anything outdoors.
If you wanted to see Joe smile, watch him on his lawnmower or catch a ride in his boat. He truly enjoyed the mysteries in life, investigating Bigfoot and Nessie and the possibility of aliens visiting and the wonders that would bring! Someone once said that if you couldn’t be friends with Joe, you couldn’t be friends with anybody. He will be missed by so many.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diane, daughter Katie Pisowicz, son Erik Pisowicz and fiancé Michelle Bouchez, grandson Tyler Pisowicz, and sisters: Donna Hughes and husband Art, Karen Garvos and husband Jim, and Joanne Warchol and husband Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass was held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Church. Arrangements under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
