Willowbrook High School’s football team finished its regular season with an Oct. 22 West Suburban Gold Conference game against Morton. The Warriors defeated the Mustangs 58-18 in Berwyn. Senior Nick Mabutas (No. 7), who is pictured during the contest, caught a 59-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback A.J. Palicki in the second quarter. Later in the quarter, Mabutas made a diving 41-yard reception at Morton’s 1-yard line. The Warriors scored a touchdown on the next play to take a 34-3 lead. Willowbrook ended its regular season with an overall record of 6-3 and a perfect conference mark of 6-0. The Warriors have won five consecutive West Suburban Gold Conference championships. Willowbrook has not lost a conference game during that span. The Warriors last suffered a conference loss during the final week of the 2016 regular season.
