Hubert P Blake, age 92, lifelong resident of Lombard, died November 15, 2021, at Elmhurst Hospital.
Hubert was the beloved husband of the late Carol, nee Sutherland; loving mother of Rob (Ginny) of Glen Ellyn, Larry of Lombard and Terri (Michael) Renello of Glen Ellyn; fond grandfather of Kathleen Blake of Arizona, Sherry Blake of Arizona, Samantha (Anthony) Metallo of Bartlett, Vicki (Michael) Berg of Arpin, Wisconsin, Michael (Brittni) Renello of Rockford and Renee (Pete) Nolan of Lombard; great-grandfather of five; dear brother of Marilyn Wolke of Gurnee, Illinois; and relative to many.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 18, at 11:30 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main Street, Lombard. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Hubert was a Veteran of the Korean War where he fought in the Field Artillery.
Hubert was a graduate of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Grade School and attended Glenbard High School. He worked in blacktop construction for E.H. More Paving. Hubert raised pheasants and was a member of the Illinois Game Breeders Association.

Dennis C. Busch, 69, of Lake Mills, formerly of Lombard and Wheaton, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Alden Estates of Jefferson. Dennis was born on May 10, 1952, in Chicago, the son of Frank and Marie Busch. He was a 1970 graduate of Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL and delivered mail as a letter carrier with the USPS in Lombard for 35 years.
He had a wonderful smile and enjoyed rock music, cars, wine and a good joke … or a bad one. He loved animals, especially all the cats in his life. In his later years, he had a long struggle with early-onset dementia. As one of his favorite John Lennon songs said: “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”
Dennis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy; his son Jason (Renee); grandsons Isaac and Landon; sister Beverly (John) Caruso; and nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank the care staff of Alden Estates of Jefferson, especially Shelly and Adriana, as well as the staff of Rainbow Hospice, including Lauren M., Krista S., Nicole S. and Matthew.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Janet Elsner, age 82, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Lombard, passed away on November 9.
She was the beloved wife of 57 years of Hans, loving mom of Dave (Suzanne) of North Aurora, and Amy (Don) Erickson of Glen Ellyn, and caring grandmother of Avery, Ella, and Olivia.
Jan grew up in Maywood and attended Proviso High School. After attending college, Jan worked at IBM and at Kemper Insurance (where she met Hans).
Jan was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, playing canasta, and spending time outdoors. She was a puzzle enthusiast.
Jan was active at the First United Methodist Church for many years, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Circle and the Third Saturday Group.
Jan had a keen sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Otto and Victoria Bredenbeck, as well as her brother, John.
A funeral service to honor Jan’s life will be held on Sunday, November 21, at 1:30 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Lombard, 155 S. Main St., Lombard. Visiting with the family will follow at the church. Masks are required at the church.
