Carol Helen Jurewicz, 93

Carol Helen Jurewicz, a longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed away on Nov. 8, 2021, at the age of 93. She was born January 7, 1928, in Chicago to the late Wesley and the late Helen Witt Hofert.

Carol was very active in her community. She was a member of the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild, Elmhurst Women’s Club, Elmhurst Republican Women’s Club, where she was a past president, Elmhurst American Legion T.H.B. Post 187 Auxiliary, acting as chair of the Poppy Day on some years. She was an early longtime member of Christ Church of Oak Brook.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph “Joe” N. Jurewicz (2020) since May 19, 1951; loving mother of Ellen Cluskey, the late Paul Jurewicz and Claire (Clay) Taylor; grandmother of John (Nicole) Cluskey, Bethany (Timon Anderson) Cluskey, Suzanne (Joey) Wiemken, Thomas Jurewicz, James Jurewicz, Mary Jurewicz and Wesley Taylor; great-grandmother of Julia Meza, Eleanor Cluskey, Amelia Cluskey and Hudson “Teddy” Cluskey; and she was aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – The Ahlgrim Chapel, 567 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst, who handled arrangements. Private interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
