The Villa Park Village Board recently voted to allow the Villa Park Community Pride Commission to change its name to the Villa Park Community F.U.N. (Focus on Unifying Neighbors) Commission. On Saturday, Sept. 25, the commission will hold its annual Paws and Claws in the Park animal adoption event at Lions Park, located at 320 E. Wildwood Ave. The commission is trying to break a Guinness World Record for the largest dog wedding ceremony at the upcoming event, which will also feature live music, training demonstrations and a pet food drive. A 2007 function in Colorado reportedly established the record in the light-hearted category with 178 canine couples. The wedding “puptials” ceremony in Villa Park is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. To register your dog for the event, visit www.pawsandclawsvp.com.
