Saint Genesius Productions (SGP), a local youth theater organization, will present an outdoor production of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” on Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31, at the Rugaard Gazebo. The gazebo is located along the Illinois Prairie Path, just west of Ardmore Avenue. Both performances will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but donations of $5 per person are suggested. Cast members have been rehearsing at Rotary Park. Pictured (left to right) during one of last week’s rehearsals are John DeAngelo, who plays Macbeth, and Jack Corkery, who portrays Macduff. DeAngelo, who graduated from Willowbrook High School in 2018, will soon begin his senior year at Millikin University, where he is studying musical theater. Corkery, who graduated from Willowbrook in 2015, is now a trustee on the Villa Park Village Board. Both DeAngelo and Corkery appeared in numerous stage productions while they attended Willowbrook. SGP had to cancel the live performances of its 2020 spring and summer productions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
