Juveniles found with airsoft rifle released to parents

On April 6, police said officers responded for the report of two juveniles who were observed pointing an orange tipped airsoft rifle at people in the 100 block of N. York at around 5:56 p.m. The officers made contact with the juveniles and found one to have an airsoft rifle and airsoft pistol in his backpack. The suspects related they were showing the guns to their friends. Parents requested the officers to confiscate and destroy both airsoft guns. The items were placed into evidence for destruction. The suspects were referred to the Peer Jury program.

Driver flees at high speed, later turns self in

On April 7, police said that while an officer was on patrol, the officer observed David Ohene Me Sarpong, 19, of Bolingbrook, perform several traffic violations and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect allegedly refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. During a phone conversation with the officer, the suspect admitted to performing the traffic violations and subsequently came into the police station, where the suspect was charged with fleeing/eluding, reckless driving, failure to signal, driving on the shoulder of the roadway, speeding, tinted windows and no insurance.

Bar patron orders drink, talks rudely to other customers

On April 7, police said officers responded to the 100 block of S. York at around 6:59 p.m. for the report of a subject who was bothering patrons and was asked to leave the premises. The complainant related after ordering a drink at the bar, the suspect approached a table of patrons and made offensive statements. The complainant requested to have the subject trespassed from the business. The suspect was gone on arrival and officers checked the area with no results. The reporting officer will follow up with the suspect to serve the no-trespass notice.

Victim believes road rage suspect brandished handgun

On April 5, police said officers responded to an area near Route 83 and Belden at around 11:15 a.m.  for the report of a road rage incident. The victim reported during a traffic altercation, the suspect brandished what he believed was a handgun and threatened to harm the victim. The suspect left the area prior to officer’s arrival. This case is pending investigation.

After complaints, man agrees not to stand naked on his balcony

On April 4, a reporting officer met with a complainant in the 400 block of S. Argyle at around 7:37 p.m. who stated she observed a subject standing naked on the balcony. The suspect admitted to the incident but believed the trees would block the view from other residences. The victim declined to sign a complaint. The suspect agreed not to stand naked on his balcony again.
