Police Reports

The Elmhurst Police Department recently reported the following arrests and citations. Persons charged with domestic battery are not named in order to protect the privacy of victims. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a conviction, and that subjects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named.

Assault, battery

April 19

Police said officers responded to Elmhurst Hospital at around 5:20 p.m. for the report of a combative patient. The victim related the suspect used her head to strike the victim in the stomach and spat on the victim. Charges are pending.

April 13-April 18

A complainant and a victim came into the police station at around 2:20 p.m. to report two incidents when the victim was bullied and battered sometime between the above dates. An investigation is pending.

April 15

Jeffrey Harlan, 44, of Lombard, was charged with battery at Elmhurst Hospital at around 2:13 p.m. Police said a reporting officer met with Elmhurst Hospital security who reported Harlan kicked a security officer.

Criminal defacement, criminal trespass, criminal damage

April 21

A reporting officer met with a complainant in the 100 block of S. York at around 10:08 a.m. who stated she was concerned about a suspect in one of the company-owned properties without authorization. The complainant wished to have the suspect served with a no-trespass order. This case is pending investigation.

April 16

A complainant near Eggleston and Washington told police as she drove westbound on Eggleston at around 5:42 p.m., she heard a loud banging sound come from the passenger side of her vehicle. Upon inspection, she found glass shards and two golf ball-sized rocks on the ground. A glass panel between the front and rear passenger windows was shattered.

April 21

Ryan Blazinski, 41, of Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct/befouling property in the 100 block of W. First at around 10:06 p.m. Police said the suspect was observed urinating on a wall at the Elmhurst train depot.

April 16

Michael Kirksy, 23, of La Grange, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct/befouling public property in the 200 block of Addison at around 12:52 a.m. Police said Kirksy was observed by a reporting officer urinating on a building and sidewalk.

DUI, DUI-drugs, illegal transportation of alcohol, illegal possession of alcohol

April 20

Lisa M. Ludwig, 60, of Willowbrook, was charged with DUI, possession of cannabis by driver, disobeying a traffic control device and improper lane usage subsequent to a traffic stop near York and Schiller at around 12:07 a.m.

April 19

Clevonte A. Holmes, 23, of Bellwood, was charged with DUI and stopping in the roadway in the 300 block of E. St. Charles at around 3:19 a.m.

April 18

Karina Alvarez, 26, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, possession of cannabis by a driver, illegal transportation of open alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, improper lighting, unsafe tires and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near York and First at around 3:05 a.m.

Michael D. Pedote, 20, of Elmhurst, and Sean M. Hipskind, 19, of Elmhurst, was issued citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 100 block of Fairfield at around 4:30 a.m. Police said officers responded to a report of two subjects possibly pulling on vehicle door handles and running through yards. According to police, officers located the subjects an found they were under the influence of alcohol and under the age of 21.

April 17

Izaiah R X Rodriguez, 21, of Lansing, Mich., was charged with DUI, possession of cannabis by driver, disobeying a traffic control signal, no valid registration and transportation of open alcohol subsequent to a traffic stop near Third and Ridgeland at around 1:25 a.m. Police said Alexander F. Balderas, 23, of Lansing, Mich., a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a loaded firearm. Balderas was charged with carrying a concealed firearm under the influence of alcohol, unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger and possession of open alcohol by passenger. Vincente S. Alvarado, 23, of Lansing, Mich., also a passenger in the vehicle, was issued a citation for possession of open alcohol in a vehicle.

April 16

Riccardo A. Alvarez, 20, of Villa Park, was charged with DUI, no insurance, possession of open alcohol in a vehicle, consumption of alcohol by a minor and for squealing tires, while Eric Morales, 21, of Rolling Meadows, a passenger in the vehicle, was issued a citation for possession of cannabis by a passenger subsequent to a traffic stop near North and Clinton at around 12:23 a.m.

Michael A. Thomas, 39, of Wichita, Kan., a passenger in a vehicle, was issued a citation for illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and Grand at around 3:25 a.m.

Fleeing, eluding

April 17

Police said that subsequent to an attempted traffic stop near Route 83 and North at around 11:13 p.m., the suspect fled at a high rate of speed. The dark colored sport motorcycle was last seen entering onto westbound I-290 from northbound Route 83. An ISPERN message was broadcast.

Mob action

April 19-April 22

Police said a reporting officer responded to Elmhurst Hospital for the delayed report of an alleged battery that reportedly occurred Dec. 13, 2020. The complainant related that the victim and his friends were involved in a physical fight in the 100 block of N. Addison. Subsequent to investigation, Brian Bianco, 27, of Berwyn, was served with charges for mob action on April 19, and offender Nestor Hernandez was served with charges for mob action on April 22.

April 21

Kierrie Murphy, 29, of Hazel Crest, was charged with obstructing identification, driving while license suspended, speeding, improper lane usage, failure to signal and no insurance subsequent to a traffic stop near North and I-290 at around 3:47 a.m. Police said Murphy provided the reporting officer with a false name and date of birth.

April 18

Jimmie Howard, 42, of Chicago, and Keonna Ray, 38, of Chicago, were issued citations for possession of open alcohol in a vehicle in the 600 block of W. North at around 6:31 p.m.

Oscar Suarez, 40, of Lombard, was charged with possession of cannabis by a driver, driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device subsequent to a traffic stop near York and North at around 2:34 p.m.

April 15

Rafael Murguia, 34, of Bensenville, was issued citations for unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, unlawful use of an electronic communication device and no seat belt subsequent to a traffic stop near York and Fremont at around 6:12 p.m.

Theft or burglary/identity theft/fraud/forgery/deceptive practice/obstruction/robbery

April 21

Damion Stapleton, 50, of Hillside, was charged with felony theft in the 700 block of S. York at around 4:28 a.m. Police said Stapleton was found to have taken a bicycle from the back yard of a residence as well as several other

items without permission.

Retail theft was reported at a store in the 600 block of N. York at around 5:20 p.m. A reporting officer met with the complainant who reported she reviewed security footage which showed a female suspect place several items into a bag and walk past the final point of sale. The suspect is described as a white female approximately 5-9, 160 pounds with blonde hair, and wearing a red, long-sleeved shirt. The unknown suspect exited the store and entered a black Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle drove off last seen traveling southbound on York.

April 19-April 20

A vehicle was reported stolen in the 100 block of S. Kenmore sometime between the above dates. The reporting officer met with the victim who stated her vehicle had been taken from the driveway sometime overnight. The victim stated the vehicle was left unsecured and with the keys inside. The vehicle was later located in Dolton and returned to the victim. The victim’s gold bracelet was missing from the glove compartment

March 18-April 20

Deceptive practice was reported in the 100 block of W. Park. A reporting officer met with the victim who stated he was hired by the suspect to provide cleaning services at the suspect’s business. The suspect provided the victim

with a check for the completed work. The victim was later notified the check was returned due to the suspect’s account being closed. The suspect has not returned phone calls or made any arrangements to pay for work the victim had completed. This case is pending investigation.

April 9-April 19

Theft of vehicle parts was reported in the 500 block of Alexander. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) stole the catalytic converter from his 2001 Acura TL while it was parked in the driveway of his home sometime between the above dates.

April 18

A victim at a store in the 300 block of S. Route 83 told police at around 4:54 p.m. that an unknown suspect attempted to use his credit card information and presented a fictitious ID displaying the victim’s name. The suspect left the fictitious ID at the store when the purchase was denied. The suspect was dropped off and left the scene in a newer model black Range Rover Velar. An investigation is pending.

A reporting officer spoke with a victim in the 300 block of S. Route 83 who reported an unknown suspect attempted to purchase merchandise using the victim’s credit card information. The unknown suspect also presented a fictitious driver’s license which contained the victim’s personal identifying information. This case is pending investigation.

April 16

A complainant in the 600 block of Bryan told police at around 12:51 p.m. that she believes the suspect took her credit card and used it without her permission. The suspect denied using the credit card and said the complainant often hides items and cannot find them.

Theft by deception was reported in the 700 block of Cambridge at around 1:35 p.m. A complainant told police that after receiving an error message displayed on her computer, she called the provided phone number in an attempt to fix the problem. She gave the unknown suspect access to her computer and provided a picture of one of her checks for payment. Once she determined the incident to be a scam, the complainant froze her account and contacted her credit card companies.

April 14-April 16

Theft of vehicle parts was reported in the 100 block of Prospect. A victim told police that while her vehicle was parked in the Dinkmeyer Hall parking lot, an unknown suspect(s) cut her vehicle’s exhaust system and removed the catalytic converter sometime between the above dates.

April 14-April 15

Theft of vehicle parts was reported in the 200 block of N. Myrtle. A victim told police that an unknown suspect(s) removed the catalytic converter from her vehicle while it was parked in the driveway sometime between the above dates.

Warrant arrest

April 19

Police said that subsequent to a traffic stop near Lake and I-290 at around 11:18 p.m., Victor M. Gonzalez Carrillo, 36, of Villa Park, was found to have a revoked driver’s license and a valid warrant from the Lake County Sheriff’s office. The suspect also was charged with driving while license revoked and improper lighting.
