Pick of the Week – The Elmhurst event NOT to be missed!

From 6 to 9 p.m., York Furrier, 107 N. York Street, is hosting a Fashionable FUNdraiser benefit for the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. A fully-deductible donation of $60 includes hors d’oeuvres, dessert buffet; champagne, wine and sparkling water; live musical entertainment; informal modeling of the York Furrier Anniversary Collection; raffles and a “swag bag” to take home. Saturday, March 21

• From 2-4:30 p.m., the Elmhurst Public Library is hosting a Legal Marijuana Informational Panel. This event is free but requires registration. Register in per-son at the Elmhurst Library, or (630) 279-8696 or at elmlib.org/events.

• From 2-4:30 p.m. in the Computer Lab of the Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect, a program called Work Smart will be hosted by the AAUW. Attendees will learn how to research a competitive salary; to articu-late your skills, qualifica-tions, and experience; to ask for and get the pay you de-serve. Sunday, April 26

From 12 noon to 5 p.m., the Elmhurst Junior Women’s Club will host the 16th Kitchen Expedition beginning at 11 a.m. at Dan Wangler Builders, 138 W. Park Ave., where guests will enjoy complimentary coffee and pastries, while obtaining tickets and event booklets. There will be free prize drawings. Proceeds benefit Soaring Eagle Academy and the EJWC. Early bird tickets are $35 before April 1; $40 each after. Tickets may be purchase in advance at elmhurst-juniors.org.

Ongoing programs:

• Now through March 31, order locally-grown, certified organic vegetable and herb seedlings during the First Congregational Church’s sixth annual sale.  To order, visit elmhurstucc.org/store/ All orders must be complete with payment no later than March 31. Seedlings will be available for pick up at the Green Garden Fair on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the church at 235 S. Kenilworth

During Lent, the Elmhurst American Legion Fish Fry will start serving one hour earlier. The Fish Fry for the 2020 season will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 310 W Butterfield Rd Elmhurst, Open to the public, everyone welcome. Info: 630-833-7800.
