Eagle Scout project nets one ton of recyclables

On Saturday, Sept. 8, Boy Scout Joseph Black (front row, 4th from left) from Troop 82 and his fellow Scout volunteers managed to collect almost a full ton of used electronics as his Eagle Scout project. Residents brought printers, laptops, cell phones and other items to the Immanuel Lutheran Church parking lot over a period of just four hours. Volunteers helped transport the donated items to Goodwill, where they will be refurbished or sustainably recycled. Joseph wishes to thank the Scouts and leaders who helped make the project a success as well as everyone who donated items.
