Jewelry sale to benefit RRAF
A jewelry sale to benefit RRAF (Where Reality is Respect, Appreciation and Fulfillment) will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10-11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 613 S. Main St., Lombard. There will be a large selection of antique costume and retro pieces all at low prices. Great for crafters, too. All proceeds benefit people with autism and developmental disabilities at RRAF. Lombard Park District to ‘bounce back to school’
The Lombard Park District is inviting families as students get ready to wrap up summer and head back to school. Bounce Back to School is a free event on Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that will be held at the Lombard Common east of Paradise Bay Water Park. Children ages 3-12 will be able to enjoy a free morning of bounce houses, inflatable obstacle courses, refreshments, giveaways and entertainment.

Lombard Garden Club to meet Aug. 24
On Friday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m., the Lombard Garden Club meets at the Lombard Community Building, St. Charles Road and Grace Street. Guests are welcome and the program is free. Ageless Grace program in York Center
Ageless Grace is an anti-aging fitness program for body and brain based on the science of neuroplasticity. Since the tools are performed in a chair, this increases stability and range of motion, so baby boomers, all ages and abilities of seniors and those with weight, joint, diabetes, MS and other challenges, as well as those in wheelchairs or with other physical limitations love it! This class is for anyone at any age who is interested in aging gracefully using timeless anti-aging techniques for the body and brain that almost anyone can do. The class is Silver Sneakers approved and free to Silver Sneakers Participants with valid Membership card. Recommended for ages 40 years and up. Lunch and Learn program
Villa Park Recreation is hosting a free Lunch and Learn informative presentation planned for older adults, their families and caregivers ages 18 and older. Casa San Carlo, Northlake, will give the presentation, including lunch, at the Community Recreation Building, 320 E. Wildwood. Arbor Day Foundation offering free trees
Everyone who joins the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation with a $10 donation will receive 10 free Colorado blue spruce trees or 10 white flowering dogwood trees through the Foundation’s Trees for America campaign. New members of the Arbor Day Foundation will also receive “The Tree Book,” which includes information about tree planting and care, and a subscription to Arbor Day, the foundation’s bimonthly publication.
